Ardent Health Services ended last year with a major technological innovation that is catching everyone’s attention.

They launched a continuous patient monitoring program, where the patient must have a wearable device that will record the patients’ vital signs.

Clinicians can collect this data in real time and make data-driven decisions regarding the next step in the patient’s treatment.

This new program aims to optimize clinical and operational workflow in hospitals, reducing the workload and increasing the efficiency of patient care.

This patient monitoring program had its first trial at Ardent-owned BSA Hospital in Amarillo, Texas, who began using BioIntelliSense’s wearable devices and analytics engine to continuously monitor the vital signs of inpatients.

Thanks to this device, they were able to identify candidates for early discharge and intervene in a timely manner on patients who required changes in their treatment.

The success of the program prompted Ardent to expand it across their 30 hospitals, hoping that more patients will successfully complete their treatments and that these hospitals will reduce the workload of healthcare workers.

“These tools empower our clinical teams to work at the top of their license while providing actionable insights that allow us to tailor care in near real time, supporting better outcomes and an improved experience for both patients and caregivers,” said Ardent Chief Executive Officer Marty Bonick

Time in the healthcare world is a great resource, healthcare professionals need to be able to utilize technology to be aware of many patients’ treatment progress both in and out of the hospital.

It is common for clinicians to be unable to keep up with the workload, so utilizing available technology is a very vital move; it allows clinical teams to perform their work quickly and expertly, while providing invaluable information that allows them to personalize care in near real time.

This supports better outcomes and provides a superior experience for both patients and caregivers, as commented by Ardent President & CEO Marty Bonick.
